Say Hello to the 2022 Gerber Spokesbaby!
The 2022 Gerber Spokesbaby and Chief Growing Officer contest winner has officially been announced! Meet Isa Slish, a 7-month-old baby girl from Edmond, Oklahoma who won the hearts of judges with her happy, bright, and shiny personality. Parents had the honor of speaking to Isa's parents, Meredith and John Slish (Isa was adorably babbling in the background), and to say they are excited and proud of baby Isa is an understatement.
The Slish family decided to enter the 12th annual photo search for the same reason many parents do. "We feel she is the most beautiful baby ever," Meredith gushes, adding that they wanted to share Isa's infectious smile and giggles with the world. But there is another reason these adoring parents knew their daughter would make the perfect Gerber Spokesbaby.
As Meredith shared in a press release, "Before she was born in September of 2021, we knew Isa was special, and she has shown us that every day since she came into our lives. We found out when I was 18 weeks pregnant that Isa would be born without a femur or a fibula in her right leg. We hope Isa's story can bring more awareness for limb differences and create greater inclusion for children like her. Because, just like Isa, they too can be or do anything they want!"
Meredith also says, "We feel thankful that we get to share her story because representation matters." John says that the $25,000 in prize money that Isa receives as the winner of the contest will be set aside for future medical procedures.
Today, precious little Isa is living her best life as a celebrity, with Meredith telling us her little one isn't exactly hating all the attention that has come along with her newfound fame. "Every time she hears her name, she smiles and giggles," Meredith says.
Isa, whose favorite baby food flavor (so far) is sweet potato—she's also a fan of the sweet potato puffs—is spending her days putting her fingers or a toy in her mouth, according to John. And, little Isa may be a famous baby now, but the biggest star in her book is her big sister, 4-year-old Temperance, who Isa adores.
Meredith says she knows her daughter has big shoes to fill as she takes over her role as the Gerber Spokesbaby from the 2021 winner Zane Kahin, but is excited to see where this adventure takes Isa!
